Could dead pigs possibly be a good sign?

Although extremely difficult to swallow, the grim news recently in from China somehow has positive implications for public health.

For years, some pig farmers have illegally sold dead pigs that have died due to poor health or disease to slaughterhouses for processing, eventually finding their way to market.

A recent crackdown on such behaviour has resulted in thousands upon thousands of the dead animals simply being dumped to avoid arrest by the authorities.

On the one hand, China’s already sub-par water supply and public health system is threatened on a colossal scale, while on the other, the population is suddenly able to swerve around the prospect of being fed more diseased or contaminated meat.
